Jeffrey A. Groves is a consulting actuary specializing in pensions and related employee benefits. He has provided pension actuarial services to organizations ranging in size from a one employee to several hundred thousand. He assists sponsors in the management of their retirement programs, specializing in the design and financing of defined benefit pension plans and executive retirement vehicles. Mr. Groves entered the actuarial profession in 1971 and has worked for national benefits consultancies, as well as one of the big four accounting firms; he is currently self-employed and provides services directly to sponsors of retirement plans and through related third parties. Mr. Groves is a Member of the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries, a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries, a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, and an Enrolled Actuary. He served on the Education and Examinations of both ASPPA (three years) and the SOA (seven years). For the past fifteen years, he has been one of the final reviewers of the examinations required of all actuaries who wish to qualify as Enrolled Actuaries. Mr. Groves has participated as a speaker on numerous panels on retirement issues, including presentations at various Enrolled Actuaries’ annual meetings from 1985 through 2003, at the 1995 ASPPA annual meeting, and at various regional and annual meetings of the SOA. |
