Debi is a Principal in the Employee Benefit Plan Services Group of Frazier & Deeter, LLC, with over 14 years of employee benefit plan auditing and consulting experience. Prior to joining Frazier & Deeter, Debi was with the Employee Benefit Plan Services Group of Ernst & Young LLP in Philadelphia. Debi's responsibilities included development of the Mid-Atlantic region's specialized employee benefit plan audit templates for defined contribution, defined benefit and health and welfare plans. She served as the Philadelphia office expert in the technical aspects of employee benefit plan audits, and worked closely with clients and audit teams to resolve tax qualification issues. Debi has also worked with prominent local CPA firms in Philadelphia, as well as with employee benefit plan consulting and administration practices in Atlanta and Huntsville, Alabama. Debi specializes in audits of qualified defined contribution, defined benefit, and health and welfare plans, including extensive experience auditing plans required to file an annual 11-K with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Her clients have included public, private and not-for-profit entities, spanning across all industries. She has audited benefit plans ranging in size from 100 to 96,000 participants, with assets ranging from $1 million to $2.4 billion. Debi is responsible for quality control of Frazier & Deeter’s employee benefit plan audits. In this role, she monitors and interprets emerging accounting, auditing, compliance and reporting issues specific to employee benefit plans, and communicates these developments to audit teams and clients. Debi developed the firm's employee benefit plan audit methodology which serves as the foundation for the quality control of the firm's benefit plan audits. She also works closely with clients to address technical and document compliance issues, to enhance Plan fiduciaries' understanding of and adherence to Department of Labor and Internal Revenue Service regulatory requirements. Debi is dedicated to providing exceptional client service by tailoring the audit approach to meet the specific needs of each engagement. Debi earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in Accounting from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. She is a licensed CPA in the states of Georgia, Alabama and Pennsylvania. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants. Debi joined the Board of the ASPPA Benefits Council of Atlanta in January 2007. |
